SHG is a UK based hospitality group with a rapidly expanding portfolio of hotels, restaurants and KFC outlets.
We were approached by the company to assist with the design and marketing of their annual awards ceremony. They wanted the evening to reflect their values as a group and be a celebration of their hard-working staff – the ‘Splendid Family’ as they are known.
The evening was to be around the theme of ‘London’s calling’ and we were asked to create marketing materials for the event.
The group wanted us to help them;
The event was to be held at the group’s London Hilton Bankside Hotel, so the company was eager for the theme of the evening to be “London’s Calling”. With this in mind, our design-led campaign was created around the Union Jack flag and the London Underground. The Design team created a selfie kit for the ‘Splendid Family’ to use to assist with content for one of the video’s we were creating.
We used social media to create excitement around the event and start a conversation, using the hashtag “#SHGAwards19”. The Social team sent out teaser posts on Twitter and the ‘Splendid Family’ group page on Facebook in the run-up to the event. Following the event, we posted tweets about the award winners.

The Digital Marketing team were pleased to be invited to the awards ceremony and share the occasion with the Splendid Family and were pleased to see that the evening was a resounding success! Everyone had a wonderful time, cheered their way through the video’s and the client was very happy with the marketing materials we created. We are looking forward to our continued work with SHG across all areas of our business!
